Limerick Contest

That's right, a limerick contest. We hope it will be a funny limerick contest. But that's up to you.

Prizes are being donated by local books stores including Barnes and Nobles. The creators of the top entries will have the opportunity to read their limericks at Brandon Idol on April 26. That'll be a fun addition to the show.

Here are the guidelines.

• A limerick has five lines with 9 syllables in the first, second and fifth lines, and 5 or 6 syllables in the third and fourth lines.
• The rhyming scheme is AABBA.
• Multiple entries are allowed. Send as many as you'd like.

1. Write as many humorous limericks as you wish.
2. Submit your creations using this entry form.

Scoring Criteria

Limericks will be judged equally on

• Humor
• Creativity/Cleverness

And, of course, there are a few rules:

• Appropriate Content: Limericks should be appropriate for a general audience. We don't mind if you push the envelope a little, but gratuitous use of expletives will disqualify a limerick.
• Original Work: The limerick must be your original creation.
