How to Perform in Brandon Idol Teen

Thanks. We really appreciate your interest in performing.

We're looking for the best performers and the funnest performers. Great singers make a great show, but good entertainers who engage the audience make it a fun show. We're looking for both.

So if you're a talented singer or musician, we want you in the show. But if you're good on stage and can engage the audience, we want you, too.

Here's how to perform.

1. Sign up to be in the show. (Sign Up Form)
2. We'll contact you to confirm your entry.
3. You print and complete the Performer Release (PDF format).
4. Send us the release and entry fee of $25.

It's that simple.

About the Contest

Generally upbeat songs are good, but slower songs have scored well, too. The talent score carries more weight, so it makes sense to do your best song or routine. But historically, there are terrific performers who choose upbeat songs that get the crowd going. Those performers have gotten a few extra points for stage presence and have won. But it's up to you.

Scoring

The Brandon Idol Competition is judged as follows:

• Scored on talent and on stage presence on a scale of 1-10
• The talent score will be multiplied by 2 to give it double weight.

Talent Score, Scored 1-10
For a basis for the score, use the following:

• 10 is an exceptional professional talent--other things not considered (appearance or stage presence for instance), the contestant could perform for high-profile, professional events and recordings
• 5 is a good amateur
• 1…they are brave to try that in public

Stage Presence Score, Scored 1-10
If you want a basis for the score, use the following:

• 10 if the contestant's confidence, audience interaction or other factors were exceptional or significantly contributed to the entertainment value of the act
• 5 if the contestant's confidence, audience interaction or other factors contributed to the entertainment value of the act
• 1 if the contestant performs (everybody gets 1).

People's Choice

Each participant will be requred to bring a decorated shoe box indicating their talent on the outside of the box.along with their name. Donation will be acceped on your behalf for the people's choice award.
